The Velveteen Rabbit: Adapted from the Margery Williams’ classic by kb saine with original music by Roddy Barnes, this is a wonderful family-oriented, holiday show about the heart-warming story of a stuffed rabbit and his quest to become real.
Running December 3-26, 2010, Thursday-Saturday 8pm, Sunday 4pm.
Jitney: Set in 1970 in a part of the Hill District of Pittsburgh that is served by a makeshift taxi company, August Wilson’s Jitney is a beautiful play about the black American experience in the twentieth century told through the stories of the jitneys, the unofficial, unlicensed taxi cab drivers.
Running February 25-March 12, 2010, Thursday-Saturday 8pm, Sunday 4pm.
Art: Written by Yazmina Reza and Christopher Hampton, 1998 Tony Award winner for Best Play, this play starts with discussions and introspections about art and leads to an examination of the bonds of friendship and the calamitous effect of an expensive piece of abstract art on three friends.
Running May 6-21, 2011, Thursday-Saturday 8pm, Sunday 4pm.
The Odyssey: A Greek classic about Odysseus’ long trip home after the fall of Troy, this adaptation by Mary Zimmerman brings in some modern elements allowing us to recognize ourselves in this ancient story and see that Odysssues's journey still has ties to our modern lives. We're looking forward to presenting this play outdoors on the lawn of beautiful Battersea.
